Forensic Evaluations
Dr. Simpson is board-certified in adult and forensic psychiatry. He has been appointed to the expert witness panel in three California counties and has performed over six hundred evaluations.
In addition to his medical training Dr. Simpson has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience; his doctoral work was in PET, MRI and fMRI imaging. He is the editor of Neuroimaging in Forensic Psychiatry, forthcoming from Wiley-Blackwell in 2012.

Dr. Simpson is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law and serves on its Criminal Behavior, Forensic Neuropsychiatry and Psychopharmacology Committees.
Dr. Simpson is also a councillor for the Southern California Psychiatric Society, an American Psychiatric Association District Branch.
